Meet Our Fire Chief - Tommy Rayfield

tommy rayfield named fire fighter of the year 2023Tommy Rayfield has been a part of the department for 8 years, seven in which he has served as Captain. He was recognized as Firefighter of the Year for 2023 and he received Firefighter of the Year in 2018.

He is a Construction Manager at Windstream Communications, where he has been employed for 15 years. He is the co-owner of H&R Hardware and Lumber in Hohenwald, TN. He and his wife Lena, have been members of New Life Christian Church for 14 years. Tommy has also served on the Security Team for the church for 7 years. They have two children, Lauren Bunch and Lee Heinrich, and four grandchildren, Keelee, Khloe, Matthew, and Jackson. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and traveling with his family. His favorite sport is golf, because he enjoys playing and competing with friends.

When someone calls 911 to report a fire, the 911 dispatcher notifies the appropriate volunteer fire department in Perry County. Do NOT call these volunteer fire departments to report a fire!
